Poetry Friday and a Chalk-A-Bration

Poetry Friday and Chalk-A-Bration Collide Here!

Here is my advice of the day. :)

I hope everyone is having a wonderful end to May. I always enjoy stepping from May to June.
My students and I finished up our Chalk-A-Bration and I will be sure to post the link for my classroom blog here soon with all the poems, photos and chalk illustrations.
They are wonderful and a nice sign of summertime.

Here is my chalketry.

Poems are stories
bundled up
words in a cup
just enough
to spread a grin
across your face
words overflow
into your space.

~Betsy

Poetry Friday Peeps:
On this busy Friday of graduations, warm weather and poetry I will update the post with links throughout the day. If you would be so kind as to include a "one liner" of a summary of your post in the comment section I will include that in the lineup. I hope to get to all of the wonderful posts to fill my cup with words over the weekend! Happy reading to you all.

Chalk-A-Brators:
If you are a teacher or just a chalk loving poet please link below in the comments as well! I will have a separate section of Chalk-A-Bration poets to add through the weekend! I hope all the children (and grown up) poets out there enjoyed a day of chalk.

Be sure to come back and check out the chalky poem explosion that is sure to occur here as the weekend continues!

Thanks so much for hosting! Your chalketry is lovely. What a wonderful idea to get poetry more visible and, after all the rain we've had in Iowa, it's an opportunity to introduce the idea of revision! :)

Yesterday was my last day with kids this year, which always is bitter-sweet. Here's an original poem about an Iowa farmstead near my house that's also about what gets remembered and what gets forgotten.

What a lovely idea a Chalk-A-Bration is, I'm a dyslexic children's poet so anything bigger and more multi-sensory like a path poem works well for me
