Welcome to a stream of ideas as I venture on a journey to develop young writers. This blog will be influenced by my current reading list, conferences, colleagues, your comments and of course the students I work with each day. The connection between all forms of early literacy will also frequent the blog and their importance in the writing process for young learners.
Yay for first days! (We had ours today, too.) Did you have many criers? I'm sure you were the object of many a dinner-table conversation this evening! ;) Good luck getting through the rest of the week.
The first day (and the second by now) behind you and the year is rolling on in full speed. We may make grand plans and envision the future but we will still live it day by day. I hope your foot feels better.

Each day will get easier. It's a good thing when they all get home safely. Rest and repeat :-)
Betsy,
I so admire anyone who teachers the youngest! I also agree with Elsie, rest and then let's do it again tomorrow!
The first day can be tough with little ones, but everyone getting home is good news! A great start to the year . . . keep chugging along!
The first day back is always so hard. Take it one day at a time.

I think you could call it brave new world, too! Congrats on the finish & staying up past eight. Best for tomorrow too!
I need to keep Everyone's advice in mind too! One day at a time! Hope you have a great school year Betsy!

My first day with preschoolers is next week. I'm sure I'll be in the same place you are Tuesday night!
